We will admit that this snark is a bit subdued as this listing has been ended since we found it. We’ve focused in on this listing because the photos do not appear to be in focus. At least the front of the figure is not in focus.
See? This pattern repeats itself in all of the photos.
Halloween is this month. Thinking we could decorate with a “Medical Anatomy Human Science” theme. Add some STD images in there. Get some tumor photos. Drape everything in skin and hair. We think it could really come together.
We like this. We really do. We just think the price tag is a bit much. At least this user made use of most of the photo opportunities eBay offers. Although we would like to see a more complete photo for the first one. We’re also not quite sure about the message. At first we thought this was a jab (get it?) against the unvaccinated but looking closer we think it might be created by an antivaxxer?
There’s a lot of material here but for now let’s just focus on the shipping quote we got for a zip code across the country from Washington state. Assuming this won’t fit in a flat rate padded envelope (which is considered expedited by the way) we would expect the shipping to be around ten dollars. For sixty-eight dollars and change we would expect it to be delivered to our front door by a man wearing white gloves who hopped out of a limousine. The backpack itself is a mere fifty dollars (take a penny). However, they do have Make an Offer. Conceivably you could offer them a single penny for this item and still they would make a nice profit. In fact if we were listing this item we would probably list it for far less than that.
It looks like this is a one of a kind art personalized and made just for you. Unfortunately the pictures provided do not really do any sort of justice to the finished product. We’ll say it again: eBay allows up to twelve photos per listing. That’s before you get creative with pic stitch. This listing only took advantage of a third of those and then slapped a fifteen thousand dollar price tag on it. Mind blowing.
What caught our attention here was the shipping. “Shipped with USPS Media Mail.” We hope the seller really just wants local pickup and just chose an option at random and eBay filled in the rest. But there is a local pickup only option on eBay. Also media mail may be cheap but it still goes by weight and that ain’t going to be $3.49 cheap even with media mail.
Here’s a small tip. eBay lets you add up to twelve photos. If you want to sell something for two hundred thousand dollars perhaps add a few more photos. Just pointing that out. There aren’t even photos buried in the description.
